"When I am prepping for a show, my ritual is to sum up my competition. I look up each competitor, find photos of the key players and post them on my refrigerator. Before I work out, if I need motivation, I will study those pictures. Sometimes my training partners might bring a photo of my biggest threat to the gym or they might yell out an athlete's name to make me get a couple of forced reps at the end of a set.
"I also like to view DVDs of previous competitions in which I battled with someone in particular - it lights a fire under my ass right before 1 go to the gym. One diet ritual I follow is to have a cheat meal every weekend (my foods of choice are sushi or a big, juicy rib-eye steak). It helps me to keep my sanity."
